Happy October! It's unseasonably amazing here encouraging a lot of outside time and outdoor project work.
As for fun outdoor time, there's been lots of baby throwing (as you can see above), some leaf raking, and some lessons in baby wearing from local momma's who share their knowledge. My little guy is starting to crawl and makes the most amazing noises, it seems his repertoire is growing every day. All in all October has been rocking my socks off and it's really only just begun.
We had a gnarly overgrown hedge down the side of our property, and while I've been taking care of the wee one my partner and his friend starting taking it out. Amazing what a shovel can do in the right hands. This will open the way for some fall fence building or as I think of it 'the dog containment device'. Watching a babe and 2 dogs without a secure fence is a bit much for this crafty lady. I've run down the street chasing a dog with said babe in arms and a breast hanging out one too many times. So the possibility of having a trustworthy fence within the foreseeable future is something I've really been looking forward to (for a looooooong time).
Oh and it's Thanksgiving! On this Thanksgiving weekend I am full of gratitude for:
- being a part of my loving family and the family of my partner
- our home and all the projects we get to work on
- our zany and loving dogs
- having wonderful friends who fill our lives with good cheer
- the simple fact that we were born in Canada and have had so many opportunities
- the beautiful weather and all the wonderful seasons we visit with each year
- being in a partnership with my best friend and getting to share my life with him (and all the laughter he brings into every day)
- being a mom to my little man, who makes every day infinitely better just by existing
I hope your weekend is full of love
Just a quick note to say I'm back up and running! After a summer of nasty web hosting issues, a wonderful trip away and a recent bout of laptop issues (can you say 'thank you warranty!'), everything seems to be back in order.
Updating website right now. Added some info on custom quilts and a bit of a new look. I'm hoping to get back to work on some new projects - if I can juggle this whole mamma/crafter balance and thinking of possibly stepping back into a bit of photography (if you're in the Ottawa area and want a discounted natural light shoot drop me a line!).
I've only applied to a select group of craft shows this year. In part because I just wasn't on the ball (I was on the baby ball haha) and in part because I don't want to get too ahead of myself. I've got a few projects on the go and need to catch up with myself before I branch out too far. Hopefully I'll see some of you out there soon.
In addition to kokobaru and baby-baru (cutest little guy ever), my partner and I are also trying to get a lot of work done around the house - including a better fence to contain puppy-barus. So many projects, so little time.
