Today was fun!
Lots of nice people and a feeling like the last day of school. It was a long sale (6 days), but it was a good experience and I'm pretty happy that so many new people were introduced to Kokobaru.
I was also happy to meet a local artisan named Laura. Her work is gorgeous. I feel very fortunate to have brought home a special present for our baby's room from her collection.
When I first saw it, I asked what it was and she called it a 'soul house'. We talked more about it over the days and I grew more and more attached to having one for us. I took one today to put up in our house.
The idea is just so beautiful. This handmade piece represents a place to store/remember the non-physical - could be dreams, aspirations, wishes, hopes, regrets, essence of being, etc. I thought it would be a lovely idea - a place to store our imagination, hopes, dreams, etc for our little bean and our lives together.
A reminder of the importance of the non-physical - energy as I like to think of it.
The artist is local to Ottawa, but has some of her smaller work up on Etsy. You can find her at Sheppard Handmade.
Beyond being super talented, she's also super nice.
I sold a lot of my toys over the last few weeks, but I have some pictures of what's left up on my facebook page with prices, etc.
Have a gander if you'd like.
I also was lucky to have a friend take a picture of my baby belly - whoa nelly! Baby is growing!
